In the Barus and Holley Physics Building and the Prince Engineering Building, Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects completed an 11-phase renovation project that involved careful planning and coordination with many users, the facilities group and the occupants of both buildings.
The first phase involved renovating the 5,448 SF proposed X-ray area on the first floor of the Prince Lab Building and lab areas on the third and fifth floors of the Barus & Holley Building.
The second phase of 3,367 SF involved construction and renovations of many new labs, including a new computer lab, a new Class 100,000 soft-wall Clean Room, a new Computer Architecture Lab and new Copy Center. This phase also involved tying the projects into the laser process cooling loop. Phase III involved renovations to 4,700 SF of labs, including a new Computer Architecture Lab, and a New Computer Vision Lab.
