GRLA completed a new 13,800 SF Equine Sports Medicine Complex at its veterinary school campus. The project is central to the school’s mission of providing the best care for large and small animals while training veterinary students with the latest methods and technology. The complex is adjacent to the Hospital for Large Animals.

The arena features a central 9,000 SF area for horses to walk and trot, viewing spaces for assessing and diagnosing problems, holding and exam stalls, offices, storage, and a classroom. Project work included:

  • Verification of requirements with Tufts administration and veterinarian staff

  • Exploring site options and selecting the best location for the proposed arena

  • Exploring schematic design of 3 options for arena structures at primary site location, with preliminary cost estimates for each scheme

  • Final design and construction
